Often times we are bombarded in the media with the negative actions of African Americans primarily African American males. The other day though I was overcome with pride and joy when I saw the story of Kwasi Enin, an African American male who applied to and was accepted to all eight Ivy league schools in the United States. The child of Ghanaian immigrants, Kwasi Enin scored an impressive 2250 out of 2400 on his SATs. In addition, Kwasi is a violist and aspires to become a physician. I am proud of this young man for so many reasons but mainly because he values education and understands its importance. I believe that Kwasi Enin will inspire many throughout his lifetime and I foresee a bright future in any and every endeavor that this young man pursues.
